SSAT Prep

At New York Academics, all of our SSAT instruction is personalized, one-on-one tutoring. We carefully evaluate each student and tailor SSAT test prep lessons to meet the specific needs of the individual.

Our approach to preparing students for the SSAT has three prongs:

First, we address any academic weaknesses that may exist (i.e., insufficient vocabulary, confusion about multiplying fractions, etc.);
Second, we instruct students in test-taking methods that work;
Finally, we make sure that students get enough practice to become very familiar with the SSAT and master their skills.

About the SSAT

The SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) is one of the tools that independent middle and high schools commonly use to evaluate applicants. The Lower Level SSAT is given to students currently in the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. The Upper Level SSAT is given to students currently in the eighth through eleventh grades. Both versions of the exam consist of four multiple choice sections and one essay that is unscored, but sent to the schools to which you apply.
